Dr. Mehak Arora

Dr. Mehak Arora is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana. She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Amritsar, in 2018, followed by her MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from DMC&H, under Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, in 2023. She subsequently completed her Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) in 2024. She has also completed Part I of the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and is currently enrolled for Part II.

Dr. Arora has extensive clinical experience in both obstetrics and gynaecology. Her obstetric expertise includes management of normal and instrumental vaginal deliveries, caesarean sections, cervical cerclage, ectopic pregnancies, high-risk obstetric cases, and obstetric hysterectomies. She has also been involved in invasive prenatal procedures including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling and is experienced in early obstetric ultrasonography.

Her primary area of interest is Minimal Access Gynaecology. She is experienced in abdominal and laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy, pelvic floor repair, diagnostic hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, as well as operative hysteroscopic procedures including polypectomy, septal resection and hysteroscopic myomectomy. She has also assisted in advanced laparoscopic procedures including laparoscopic myomectomy, cystectomy and abdominal sacrocolpopexy. She is committed to promoting minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, surgical training and the development of advanced laparoscopic services.

Dr. Arora has an active interest in academics and research, with multiple publications in national and international journals. Her postgraduate thesis focused on the predictive value of first-trimester screening combined with placental growth factor (PlGF) and uterine artery pulsatility index for preeclampsia and aneuploidy.

She has actively participated in numerous national and regional conferences through oral and poster presentations. Her academic work has received recognition at several professional forums. She was awarded Second Prize for Oral Paper Presentation at the Oswal Cancer Conclave in 2022, followed by the Young Talent Presentation Award at the Society of Fetal Medicine conference in 2024 for her study on Perimortem Cesarean Section: A Four-Year Retrospective Study. She subsequently received First Prize for Oral Paper Presentation at Urogynaecon 2024 and Second Prize at the Annual Conference of the Northern Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at PGIMER, Chandigarh, in 2025.

Her areas of training and academic interest include high-risk obstetrics, obstetric and gynaecological ultrasonography, minimal access surgery, infertility and IUI. She has also been involved in organising academic programmes, workshops and professional meetings in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Dr. Arora is passionate about combining clinical excellence, minimally invasive surgical techniques, academic teaching and research. She is particularly interested in strengthening laparoscopic gynaecological services and promoting structured surgical training for postgraduate students and young obstetricians and gynaecologists. Through her clinical and academic work at DMC&H, she aims to contribute to advancing women’s healthcare while fostering a culture of learning, innovation and evidence-based practice.
