
Dr. TOBOSSI Kponou holds a PhD in Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition. He is an Expert in Food Biosafety and a Specialist in the interactions between diet, body composition, metabolic disorders, and chronic diseases, with particular interest in non-communicable diseases and nutritional transition in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He has distinguished himself through his research on sarcopenic obesity, pro-inflammatory dietary patterns, and nutritional risk factors associated with chronic diseases, particularly liver and digestive disorders. He is the author and co-author of several scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
Alongside his scientific activities, Dr. TOBOSSI holds important leadership positions in public health and community organizations. He serves as:
* President of the Togolese Association for the Fight Against Sickle Cell Disease (ATLD)
* Treasurer of the Federation of Associations for Better Control of Sickle Cell Disease in Togo (FAMCDT)
* Vice President of the National Association of Specialists in Food Hygiene and Quality Management of Togo (ANSHAMQ-Togo)
* President of the Association for the Promotion of Traditional Medicine of Golfe 5 Municipality/Lomé (APMT-CG5)
In the entrepreneurial field, Dr. TOBOSSI is a renowned agro-food processor and an established formulator of food supplements based on local food resources.
He is also a health consultant and science communicator, regularly featured in national and international media outlets such as BBC, TVT, Radio Lomé and Kara, SOS DR TV, TV7, Victoire FM, Pyramide FM, and Sport FM, as well as on social media platforms, where he contributes to raising public awareness on nutrition, disease prevention, and public health issues.
Through his scientific, institutional, and media engagements, Dr. TOBOSSI works to strengthen health systems, promote evidence-based nutrition policies, improve population health, encourage sustainable dietary practices, and support the development of effective public health policies across Africa.
