
Dr. Panchali Mukherjee has done B. A. and M. A. in English from the Department of English, Jamia Millia Islamia in 1999 and 2001 respectively; M. Phil. in English from the Department of English, University of Delhi in 2003; and Ph.D. in English from the Department of English, Jamia Millia Islamia in 2012. She did her “Post Masters Course Work” in Applied Linguistics in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures in Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, U.S.A. She has done 4 MOOCs. She has been a rank holder at the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels of her studies. She is the recipient of a merit scholarship from Jamia Millia Islamia for outstanding academic performance at the postgraduate level. She is a Fulbright Scholar. She has passed the UGC NET Examination. She is the recipient of a cash award for the international publication of a research paper awarded by T. John College, affiliated to Bangalore University. She is the recipient of the “Best Paper Award (Humanities)” jointly awarded by The Indian Science Congress Association (Bengaluru Chapter) and Surana College, affiliated to Bangalore University. She is the recipient of the award of distinguished contributions in the field of research and publication by CAIAS, affiliated to Bangalore University. She has received “Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement National Award 2021” from National Institute for Socio Economic Development. She has received a “Certificate of Appreciation” from CAIAS for receiving “Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement National Award 2021”. She has received an “Achievement Award” for the publication of The Salad Bowl: The Role of English in Creation of an Indian English Identity in 2022 from CAIAS. She was an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Languages in T. John College, affiliated to Bangalore University from 2011 to 2016. She is an Associate Professor and was the Co-ordinator of the Department of Arts and Humanities, Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, affiliated to Bangalore University from 2017 to 2018. She was the Co-ordinator of the PG Section in English in the Department of Arts and Humanities, Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, affiliated to Bangalore University from June 2018 to May 2020 and from September 2020 to March 2024. She has a work experience of 19 years approximately. She has authored and published 49 UGC approved, UGC Care List, Scopus indexed, Web of Science indexed, peer-reviewed, blind peer-reviewed journal papers, 7 articles, 1 letter, 18 book chapters, 2 books, 2 translations and 2 book reviews. She has made 42 presentations in various national and international conferences. She has attended 2 webinars, 2 national conferences, 2 trainings, 10 workshops, 1 symposium, 1 session, 1 course and 7 Faculty Development Programs. She has 1 patent and 1 copyright on the research done on extension of the theoretical concept of Postcolonialism in the domain of Science which has received acceptance and the patent has been awarded. She has another copyright on “Resistance Theory”. She is an editor and a translator. She has a research experience of 26 years. She has edited the T. John College magazine Echoes 2016, T. John College multidisciplinary journal Samyoga: An Academic Journal 11.1 (2016) and The Shade of Humanity is Grey, an anthology of translated short stories. She translated the short story “The Unfortunate’s Heaven” included in The Shade of Humanity is Grey (2016) and “The Mind Reader” published in Sārasa Vol. 39 & 40 (2022). She has been the convener of the national conference Kadambari (2016) in T. John College, affiliated to Bangalore University. She has been the convener of the international conference Advaya (2018) in Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, affiliated to Bangalore University. She was a member of the organising committee of the international conferences, FORTELL (2021), and FORTELL (2022), in CAIAS, affiliated to Bangalore University. She was a member of the Research Promotion Cell in Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies, affiliated to Bangalore University when Avishkar: An Intra-Collegiate Student Annual Research Convention (2022) and Avishkar: An Intra-Collegiate Student Annual Research Convention (2023) were hosted by it. She was a coordinator of the online national conference Jnanasukruta (2025) conducted by CAIAS, affiliated to Bangalore University. She has the memberships in the following organizations namely MELUS MELOW (The Society for the Study of Multi Ethnic Societies of the World), Anuragam Kalaignaan Pathipagam, IASA (International American Studies Association), EFSLE India (Ecological Foundation for the Study of Literature and Environment) – LEGH Movement (Literature, Environment, Gender and Human Rights) and Fulbright Association. She has been a question paper setter, evaluator and reviewer in Bangalore University, REVA University and IIS University. She is a member of the Board of Studies in English, Department of English Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and Indian Academy Degree College (Autonomous). Her interest is in the following areas namely Gender Studies, Postcolonial Studies, Research Methodology and Critical Theories, Discourse Analysis, Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics, Indian Writing in English, Ecological Studies, Feminist Studies, Translation Studies, Comparative Literature, Discourse and Power, British Literature, American Literature, Digital Humanities, Critical Health Humanities, Cultural Studies, Queer Studies, Spatial Humanities, Critical Medical Humanities, Energy Humanities, Plant Humanities, Animal Studies etcetera.
