Megha Sharma

My name is Megha Sharma, and I am a researcher and faculty member specializing in Statistics, Public Health, and Epidemiology. I come from a small village in Uttar Pradesh, India, and my journey in academia has been deeply rooted in Banasthali Vidyapith, where I completed all my studies and now have the privilege of teaching. Banasthali Vidyapith has played a transformative role in shaping my career, providing me with an environment that fosters learning, research, and personal growth. The dedicated teachers at Banasthali have been my guiding light, instilling in me the values of perseverance, knowledge, and a commitment to empowering women through education.

From an early age, I had a strong inclination towards analytical and quantitative studies, which led me to pursue a career in statistics. My research focuses on applying statistical methodologies to analyze public health data and epidemiological trends, particularly in understanding disease patterns, health policies, and population studies. I strive to contribute meaningfully to society by developing models and frameworks that can assist policymakers and health professionals in making informed decisions.

My parents have been my biggest pillars of strength, always encouraging me to aim higher and work towards my dreams. Their unwavering support and belief in my abilities have played a crucial role in shaping who I am today. It is because of their efforts that I have been able to reach this stage in my career, and I am deeply grateful for their guidance.

As a faculty member at Banasthali Vidyapith, I am passionate about mentoring students and creating an environment where young women can thrive academically and professionally. The institution has been a beacon of women’s education, empowering countless girls to break societal barriers and pursue their aspirations. The teachers at Banasthali have always been more than educators—they are mentors, motivators, and supporters who have played an invaluable role in my journey. I hope to carry forward their legacy by inspiring my students to believe in themselves and strive for excellence.

Beyond my academic responsibilities, I actively engage in initiatives that promote education and gender equality. Coming from a small village, I understand the challenges that many young girls face in accessing higher education. I want to use my platform to encourage and support them, showing them that with determination and the right guidance, they too can achieve their dreams and make a significant impact on society.

My work in statistics and public health continues to evolve as I engage in collaborative research and contribute to studies that address crucial global health issues. I firmly believe that education has the power to transform lives, and through my research and teaching, I aspire to make a meaningful difference. My journey is a testament to the values instilled in me by my parents, my teachers, and the inspiring community at Banasthali Vidyapith, and I hope to pass on this inspiration to the next generation of learners.
