Wallan Trading Company has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Chinese automaker Geely Automobile International Corporation. The announcement came after an official meeting was held between the top managements of both the companies.
The signing of the strategic partnership contract will strengthen the role of Wallan in the Kingdom’s automotive sector, as well as enable the company to expand its business in Saudi Arabia.
“For more than 45 years, Wallan Trading Company has been providing the best products to the Saudi market by building global strategic alliances with the world’s largest manufacturers. Hence, the decision to enter into this partnership was taken,” said Fahad Al-Wallan, CEO of Wallan Trading Company.
“We have sought this agency based on in-depth studies of the Saudi market’s need for a new brand with a global reputation. Geely has modern technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and is adapting these technologies in designing and manufacturing modern cars,” he added.
The strategic partnership was scheduled to be officially announced in the first quarter of this year, with a large celebration to be attended by President and CEO of Geely Auto Group, AN Conghui. However, the event has been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.
Geely owns the Volvo Car Group, and is the biggest shareholder in Daimler AG and Volvo AB, with sales exceeding 1 million cars, placing it among the world’s top 10 car manufacturers and producers. Over the past 10 years, Geely has invested more than $14 billion in research and development, with aims to invest more in the next five years.
A study conducted by Wallan before the signing of the contract found that Geely cars enjoy a good reputation among Saudi consumers, and that the advanced technologies used in the production of the third generation of its cars match the requirements of the new generation of customers in the Kingdom.
“Our new partner Wallan Trading will provide a unique experience and professional service to our users. Geely aims to bring excellent products to the Saudi market, based on Geely’s global technical and network resources, and strong investment in research and development. We are confident that Geely and Wallan will show a new face of Geely to our customers in the Kingdom,” said General Manager of Geely Automobile International Corporation, Nan Shengliang
Three main showrooms will open in Jeddah, Riyadh and Alkhobar, which will be followed by the opening of three integrated service centers and a number of quick service centers for after-sales services in these cities.
