Ms. Sunita Kumari Gurjar is a dedicated and meritorious Ph.D. Scholar in the Department of Animal Production, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. She has developed a strong academic and research profile in the field of Livestock Production and Management, with particular interest in poultry nutrition, performance enhancement, and the utilization of alternative feed resources.
Ms. Gurjar completed her graduation in Agricultural Science from Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur. She subsequently pursued her Master’s degree in Livestock Production Management from MPUAT, Udaipur. She is currently pursuing her doctoral programme in Livestock Production and Management in the Department of Animal Production, Rajasthan College of Agriculture. Throughout her academic career, she has demonstrated consistent academic excellence and has secured first division in all her academic qualifications, reflecting her commitment, discipline, and aptitude for higher learning and research.
During her Master’s programme, Ms. Gurjar undertook research on the feeding of graded levels of mustard cake and its effect on the growth performance of Pratapdhan chicken. Her dissertation work was carried out with considerable dedication and scientific rigour. She has published research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, demonstrating the quality and relevance of her research work.
Ms. Gurjar is presently pursuing her Ph.D. in Livestock Production and Management, her research work entitled “Effect of rice-based DDGS with or without multi-enzyme supplementation on performance of Mewari chicken.” Her doctoral research explores rice-based Distillers Dried Grains with Soluble (DDGS) as an alternative feed ingredient for indigenous poultry and also evaluates the role of multi-enzyme supplementation in improving the utilization and performance of birds. Her research findings have indicated encouraging results of incorporating rice-based DDGS in the diet of Mewari chicken, highlighting its potential as a sustainable and economically viable feed resource.
Ms. Gurjar approaches research with sincerity, perseverance, and a strong problem-solving attitude. She has a keen inclination towards identifying practical challenges in livestock and poultry production and developing scientifically sound solutions to address them. Her research interests are closely aligned with cost-effective, sustainable, and locally available feed for indigenous poultry production systems.
She has published eight research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals, four book chapters, four popular articles, presented her research work at a national conference and also attended two trainings. She is actively engaged in documenting and disseminating the findings of her doctoral research in journals having good NAAS ratings.
