
I Nagesh K, (M.Sc); native of Karnataka, currently pursuing my PhD as a research scholar, Department of Zoology, (specialization: Venomics, Apitherapy, Entomology) at Bangalore University, Jnana Bharathi campus, Bangalore. My research studies on novel method for extraction of honeybee venom samples by using electrical impulses as a pioneer in venom extraction from a wild honeybee, Apis dorsata in live habitat, has won me invites to demonstrate the process in esteemed Central Bee Research Training Institute, Pune in presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma and Chairman Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Shri Manoj Kumar and later Padma Shri Awardee Prof. R C Sihag, a Pioneering Beekeeping Scientist from Hisar, at the International Apitherapy Workshop and Honey Festival 2024 in Bangalore. World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies invited to present in the Fifth International Conference for Apitherapy. The valuable contribution and research paper publication and presentation in the field of honeybee venomics was recognized by AGRI INNOVA 2025 and conferred me with the Young Researcher Award 2025. My research paper presentation at the International Conference, CRISEA-25, organized by Goa University, won me 2nd ‘Best presentation award’. A ‘Best Presentation Award’ at National Conference on New Frontiers in Apiculture 2025, organized by Department of Apiculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, in collaboration with ICAR-AICRP and the National Bee Board, New Delhi. I am presently working as a Copy Editor, the Indian Academy of Sciences, (Scientific institution) Bangalore.
