
I am Dr. Roushan Islam, an Assistant Professor in the department of Botany Sripat Singh College, Jiaganj, West Bengal, India. I was recognized as a bright student in my school days. After completing my schooling, I opted for Botany Hons. in my higher studies. I stood first class first in both B. Sc (Hons.) and M. Sc examinations of Kalyani University and received a gold medal from honorable governor of West Bengal in 2010 at the annual convocation of the university for my academic excellence. I qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC NET in 2011 and secured AIR 42. I started my research in Kalyani University in Mycology and Plant Pathology, though I had specialization in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding in my masters. I qualified WBPSC and joined as Assistant Professor in Botany at A.P.C. Roy Govt. College, Siliguri in 2015. I also served Hili Govt. College in 2016. Later, I qualified WBCSC and joined Sripat Singh College, Jiaganj in the fag end of 2016. I was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in 2018 by Kalyani University. Presently, I am acting as an Assistant Professor (Stage-II) in the department of Botany, Sripat Singh College, Jiaganj. I have teaching experience of more than 10 years in college. I have a total of 22 publications under my belt in reputed national and international journals. I am highly dedicated to my profession and teach my students with utmost passion.
