R REVATHI

I am Revathi R., an aspiring researcher and a passionate learner who firmly believes in the power of hard work, determination, and perseverance. My journey from a small town in Puducherry to receiving the International Outstanding Researcher Award has been one of dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to education. Every step in my academic path has shaped my identity and strengthened my belief that challenges are stepping stones to success.
My early education began in Thirukkanur, Puducherry, at Subramania Bharathi Higher Secondary School. Those foundational years built my confidence and sparked my interest in learning. As I grew academically, I realised the importance of discipline and focus in shaping one’s future. For my higher secondary education (11th and 12th), I studied at Santa Clara Convent Girls Higher Secondary School, a place that played a transformative role in my life. The environment, discipline, and encouragement I received there inspired me to pursue higher studies with seriousness and commitment.
My passion for mathematics grew stronger over the years, guiding me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Achariya Arts and Science College. Mathematics always fascinated me with its logic, clarity, and precision, and my undergraduate years allowed me to deepen my understanding while exploring new areas of the subject. Encouraged by mentors and driven by my own interest, I went on to complete my Master’s degree at Idhaya College. These years strengthened my academic foundation and prepared me for more advanced research.
With a dream to contribute to the academic community, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. at St. Peter’s College, Avadi, Chennai. This decision marked a turning point in my life. Under the guidance of my respected supervisor, Dr. Banupriya, I began exploring complex mathematical structures and concepts. Her mentorship, along with the support of my faculty members and the encouragement of my dear friend M. Rekha, played a crucial role in helping me navigate the challenges of research. Their belief in my capabilities gave me the strength to push forward even during the most difficult moments.
However, my Ph.D. journey was far from easy. It was during this period that I faced some of the most demanding phases of my life. I completed my first year of doctoral study while being pregnant with my first child. Balancing academic work with physical discomfort, emotional stress, and medical requirements was extremely challenging. Yet, I continued with determination, believing that perseverance would eventually lead to achievement.
As I progressed to the third year of my Ph.D., life once again tested my strength-I carried my second child while managing research responsibilities. Research work during pregnancy required extraordinary emotional and physical endurance. Many nights were spent without rest, balancing motherhood, household responsibilities, and academic deadlines. There were moments when the burden felt overwhelming, but I reminded myself of my goals and kept moving forward with courage and hope. These struggles taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in oneself even when the path seems impossible.
My first research publication, “Equitable Power Domination Number of Certain Silicate Structure,” holds a special place in my heart. It is not just an academic contribution, but a symbol of my emotional strength, late-night efforts, and countless sacrifices. The journey behind this research was intense, filled with challenges, continuous reading, multiple revisions, and deep thought. When my paper was accepted for publication, it felt like a moment of triumph-an outcome of everything I had endured.
Receiving the International Outstanding Researcher Award for this work is a truly emotional and unforgettable milestone in my life. It reminds me that “hard work never fails,” and every sacrifice made during this journey has found meaning. The tears I shed upon receiving the news were tears of gratitude, pride, and relief. This award represents not only my achievements but also the support system that stood behind me.
I am deeply grateful to my father and mother for their constant encouragement and belief in my potential. Their love and guidance shaped me into who I am today. I am immensely thankful to my husband, whose unwavering support helped me stay strong throughout my Ph.D. journey. His understanding, patience, and motivation gave me the confidence to continue even when I faced the toughest challenges. I am also grateful to my brother, whose encouragement and positivity kept me inspired during the hardest moments.
As I look ahead, I aspire to continue publishing meaningful research, expand my knowledge, and contribute significantly to the academic field. I hope to inspire other young scholars who face challenges to keep moving forward, because success belongs to those who never give up. This award is not just a milestone-it marks the beginning of a greater journey, one that I will pursue with passion, dedication, and determination.
