
Dr. Ujjwal Das is an Assistant Professor of Geography at Fakir Mohan University, Odisha. He earned his Ph.D. in Geography from Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, and holds an M.Phil. and MPS from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. A Gold Medallist in Applied Geography from Ravenshaw University, Dr. Das has qualified the UGC-NET in both Population Studies and Geography. His research spans population health, mortality, fertility, migration, and geospatial analysis. He has presented at 50 national and international conferences and has published 30 papers in reputed journals, including BMC Women’s Health, BMC Pediatrics, and Global Social Welfare. His doctoral research focuses on socio-economic status and morbidity among the elderly in Bankura, West Bengal. Dr. Das is proficient in SPSS, STATA, R, ArcGIS, and other analytical tools. He is fluent in Bengali, English, Odia, and Hindi, and is committed to advancing research in population and health geography. He received the UGC-JRF award, the Young Scientist Award, the award for the highest number of publications from Fakir Mohan University, and the Best Researcher Award for International Data Analysis. He has written a book titled Medical Geography: Ageing and Morbidity Pattern Among the Elderly.
