Dr. J.B. Ashraf Ali is a dedicated medical educator, clinician, and researcher with a strong academic and professional background in physiology and general medicine. Born on March 20, 1980, in Tamil Nadu, India, Dr. Ashraf Ali has consistently demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research. With fluency in six languages—English, Tamil, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, and Telugu—he connects with a diverse range of students and patients, enriching his contributions to both the medical and academic communities.

Academic Background
Dr. Ashraf Ali’s educational journey began with his medical degree (M.D.) from Kazakh National Medical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he studied from 1998 to 2004. He returned to India and completed his internship at the prestigious Madras Medical College in Chennai. Pursuing a deeper understanding of medical science, he earned his postgraduate degree in Physiology (M.D.) from Thanjavur Medical College under the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University from July 2014 to July 2017.

Professional Experience
Dr. Ashraf Ali began his medical career as a Medical Officer at Vijaya Health Centre, Chennai (2006–2008), where he delivered primary and emergency care services in a high-demand urban environment. He then served as an Assistant Surgeon with the Directorate of Public Health Services (DDHS) in Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, from December 2008 to June 2014, gaining extensive experience in rural public health and clinical management.

In July 2017, Dr. Ashraf Ali joined Government Thiruvarur Medical College as a faculty member in the Department of Physiology. Over the years, he has held several academic positions including Tutor, Assistant Professor, Senior Assistant Professor, and currently, Associate Professor. He also serves as the Medical Education Unit (MEU) Coordinator, leading academic innovation, mentoring junior faculty, and overseeing curriculum development aligned with the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) framework.
